Exhibitors galore at Somerset House

So I thought I’d try and get your attention with this massive image, taken during S/S 10 back in September. As I said in my previous post, we’ve just been really overwhelmed with the support we’ve been getting and everyday we’re adding to our things to cover. So I’ve mentioned ON|OFF, which we’re planning on covering extensively, but there’s also Somerset House Exhibitions – which is just my favourite… it’s a place where lots of fabulous designers will be showcasing their collections including accessories, ready-to-wear, installations, Headonism (the millinery exhibition), the Lingerie Boudoir, the NEWGEN exhibition, estethica, the new Digital Presentation Space, Made by Scandinavians showcase and a whole load more.
For a full list of the designers exhibiting at Somerset House, check the Exhibitors section on the LFW site.
Righty… enough with the small talk and time for my top 5 exhibitors at Somerset House this season. As we’ve already covered BodyAmr and Beautiful Soul, we needn’t declare our love all over again…they know we love them!

We’ll also be covering the Ada Zanditon catwalk during LFW – can’t wait!

ON|OFF for A/W 2010
Seeing as we’re planning on seeing almost everything LFW has to offer for A/W 2010, we’re on a military schedule. I’m keeping my mouth shut on the details until I write about it BUT what I will say is that we’ve been given some fantastic catwalks to cover at Somerset House and Vauxhall Fashion Scout, which is so exciting and incredible – seriously…we’re so grateful, thank you!
On our lists of things to do, there are the exhibitors at Somerset House (check tomorrow’s feature on this) and the ON|OFF exhibition at Victoria House. I’ve picked out my top designers exhibiting at ON|OFF – but I’ll probably be lured in by a few others when I’m there.
Here are my top 5:

SHOWstudio FASHION REVOLUTION at Somerset House

I went to the press briefing and exhibition preview tour of the SHOWstudio: FASHION REVOLUTION at Somerset House yesterday and it was really something! Invited by Gwyn Miles, Director of Somerset House Trust and Nick Knight, Founder of SHOWstudio, it was an eye-opener. I’m definitely going again during London Fashion Week with the rest of the Emerging Fervour team.
Check out some pictures that I didn’t take of some of the pieces on display in recent years.

A major exhibition staged at London’s Somerset House in Autumn 2009, SHOWstudio: Fashion Revolution is a retrospective of nine years of online innovation, invention and creation. Based around the themes of ‘Process’, ‘Performance’ and ‘Participation’, the exhibition showcases over twenty projects from SHOWstudio’s archives alongside unique new films, artworks and live fashion shoots and events specifically devised for this groundbreaking exhibition. I know it sounds like something from the London Fashion Week but it’s even better as everyone can go!! Somerset House is about to open the doors to a major new exhibition by SHOWstudio.
A programme of live events will transform the Embankment Galleries, allowing visitors to get inside the world of fashion. This is thanks to the award-winning fashion website by Nick Knight, one of the world’s most influential fashion image-makers.
Check out what’s on and by the looks of it, you’ll have to take several trips to get the most of it!!
Check out these highlights:
- SHOWstudio’s most significant collaborations with creatives including Alexander McQueen, Peter Saville, Liberty Ross, Heston Blumenthal, Gareth Pugh, Simon Foxton, and Julie Verhoeven.
- A live photographic studio located within the exhibition space, hosting regular fashion shoots with Nick Knight and otherphotographers, laying bare the process of fashion image-making.
