What to wear when the heat is up…
Trekking around the markets in Saly, Senegal looking like a sweating lunatic is not a good look – especially if you’re on a mission to take pictures of the beautiful Senegalese woman and their ‘stay-cool’ attire. So here I am, armed with my Canon IXUS, Emerging Fervour business cards and GCSE-level French trying to explain who I am and why I NEED to take pictures. “Je ne parle Francais bien” is my staple phrase and my attempt to win over the crowd that’s quickly gathered to see who the crazy, sweaty white lady is that’s handing out business cards and talking gibberish does not seem to work.
It’s 32 degrees celcius out here, and I’ve decided instead of taking pictures of other people dressed in traditional clothing that I should just buy 2 outfits, be brave and go ahead and play dress-up myself…

Anyone who knows me, knows that I cannot stand to have my pictures taken – Facebook may show otherwise, but really – this was so painful…look – can you see the horror in my eyes?
