We ♥ Anita Quansah London

We are always on the look out of emerging, talented people and got all excited when an email from Anita Quansah London arrived. Checking our her collection which consists of eclectic, expressive one-off pieces we were blown away.
Her clothing and neckpieces fuse together timeless sophistication with great originality using recycled and vintage materials! Each piece is handmade in UK using vintage fabrics fused with reclaimed textiles, incorporating mixed metals, silver, gold, gunmetal and the introduction of colourful elements such as pearls, beads, rhinestones, ribbons and fringing giving the collection a sense of modernity with a hint of the past.
They are just amazing but let the products speak for themselves!!

All pieces within the collection are currently available for purchase at My Sugarland boutique in London, www.notjustalabel.com and www.shrimptoncouture.com (and hopefully at Emerging Fervour one day!!).

London Jewellery Week – Starting…TODAY!
When?: 7 June 2010 - 13 June 2010

Today the London Jewellery Week is starting, celebrating a week long London’s unique position in the world of jewellery design, production and retail.
The cornerstone events form the basis of a week of activities across the city, encouraging visitors to experience and celebrate London’s diverse jewellery scene. These events support new designers, feature established names and give visitors a unique experience of London’s traditional jewellery quarters.
There should be an event for everyone as looking at the list of exhibitors, I’m gutted I’m currently not in London to traipse the streets!!
You can find out where and when the events will be held on their website and you can even sign up for a discount card.

Brand Alley Flash Walks at Oxford Circus and Emerging Fervour was there!
What a beautiful sight, walking over Oxford Circus at 9 in the morning and being greeted by fabulous looking models!!
Brand Alley’s new advertising campaign, which consisted of six body-painted models strutting down the the X crossing to promote their business model, which is flash sales. The perfect catwalk.
Excuse the grainy pictures though as for that one day I’ve forgotten the camera at home .

East London Design Show…original Christmas shopping
When?: 3 December 2009 - 6 December 2009
I usually love to get my friends and family original Christmas gifts, but seeing as everything is usually left to the last minute with me, it usually ends up being something embarrassingly bad. This year however, I’ll be braving the cold and stepping out of my duvet to go to Shoreditch where I’ll be impressing my loved ones and getting them each something très moderne.
The East London Design Show as some of you trendies know, is an annual event that brings together the best of the UK’s independent product, interior and jewellery designers, all under one roof, in Shoreditch, just before Christmas. Genius.
There are different parts to this event – check it out…

Oh yes we will!! Just check out the stunning ‘Miss Butterfly’ Spring/Summer 2010 collection and you will too. We fell in love with ‘Beautiful Soul’ at the London Fashion Week and it is hard to believe it was Nicola’s debut.
Inspired by Giacomo Puccini’s, Madam Butterfly and produced from Japanese vintage komonos (dating back to the 1940’s), vintage saris, Ahimsa peace silk, Fair-Trade organic jacquard, handloom cotton, and bamboo jersey, each piece is exquisite and on top of that exclusive!! We just love the thought of going a bit greener and how easy would it be with garments like this?!

We’re so excited about ‘Beautiful Soul’ and welcome them with open arms. We’ll be getting to know Nicola a bit better so watch this space as we’ll find out what is in store for ‘Beautful Soul’.
