Jacob Kimmie and the Pilgrim collection
The last of Saturday’s catwalks, Jacob Kimmie’s show had everyone sitting up and frantically snapping away at their cameras regardless of how cold and somewhat bedraggled this hardcore audience were feeling!
There couldn’t have been a better setting for this “ritual dressing and modern temples” inspired collection than the Freemasons HQ, and Jacob Kimmie is certainly one to watch…
The invite looked like a rough briefing sheet for the show, with details on the inspiration – ritual dressing, fabrics – feathers, wool, leather, silhouette and music – American Gospel house and minimalist tribal dance.
The modern Aztec, Inca temples and religious rituals inspiration have been the basis for Kimmie to create a mood of enlightenment and spirituality. He’s also focused on stripping away frivolity to show adornment in a primitive way resulting in a primal couture-like collection. The glamour just oozes from this collection – we love it!

What’s in your wardrobe: Olli Leivers
I met Olli one bizarre work-drinks Friday (she’s an ex-colleagues girlfriend) and couldn’t help but perv on her amazing style for the whole night. Luckily she didn’t get too freaked and agreed to help me kick start our new feature that looks inside the wardrobes of non-famous but super trendy people. We know, sounds amazing…and it is, so here is Olli Leivers rocking five different outfits:
SEQUIN DRESS

Olli says: “I love this dress. I think the high street has become a little TOO inundated with sequins recently. They can be a little lairy/tacky at times. I personally love them when they’re used subtly like this. I feel all aquatic and magical in it. Although, I’ll usually dirty up a look that’s too girly – hence the jacket and whopping great big platforms.”
If you like the style and after something slightly different, then check out our suggestions throughout this piece.
What we found

1. Dress £363: Antik Batik from farfetch.com 2. Jacket £519: Preen from fatfetch.com 3. Shoes £140: Ethel by KG at Kurt Geiger
Fflur Owen Interview
I know you all loved my piece on emerging talent Fflur Owen so it brings me huge delight to write more about this lovely designer…even better, she’s given me an interview…

Sara: Since what age did you feel the urge to design?
Fflur: I have always been interested in creating, ever since I was very young.
My father is a carpenter by trade, so I guess I was bought up in quite a crafty house. One of my first memories is working with my father in his shed making little wooden objects. Both my parents have always supported what I do. They have been my inspiration along the way.
I’m one of those people that have to have something to do all the time; I’m constantly fiddling with something or other. I enjoy the process of trying to create beautiful objects out of very plain or unimaginative materials.
Sara: Nice, your pieces look like a lot of love and thought went into them – where do you get your inspiration?
You don’t need a bike to own leather

As leather is being predicted to be a great trend in 2010 we just have to mention Natalia Brilli.
She started as a set and costumer designer, collaborating with established fashion designers until she decided to give in to her passion: accessories. And leather if go by her collection.
We love how she uses it, covering not only skin but also objects. You can take your obsession into every aspect of your life.
Check out some of these creations!! Can you see yourself in a leather helmet? As a scooter owner, I CAN!!!

This is from her men’s collection, don’t you love that scarf?

This laptop bag is one of my favourites (£364.00 at Farfetch.com – if only I could…)

You can get your hands on some of these amazing creation through www.farfetch.com or in one of the following stockists: Harrods, Liberty, bStore, Kokontozai.
Fflur Owen – Queen of Leather
Leather pieces are a must this season as I explained in my Bohemian Luxe crush entry.
Based in Chiswick, Fflur Owen has taken leather pieces to another level with laser cut leather, leather fringing and fantastic oversized accessories.
LOOK.

The dress on the right is amazing MIND-BLOWING.

I’m loving the oversized earrings on the left and slouchy bag on the right.
Fflur is a 2009 University of Westminister Fashion Graduate, who’s final collection (above) has obviously caused a positive stir in fashion world.
“Fflur Owen’s graduate collection is like lighting out for the territory – a mix of native spiritualism and natural grace. Laser cut leathers, leather fringing, over sized accessories and buffalo motif conjure up images of an American Indian landscape where the spirits of ancient animals roam freely” Dazed
I’m sure you’ve all now fallen in love with Fflur so if you would like any of the pieces then visit her site at www.fflur.co.uk. You can also contact her on +44 (0)7772 596623 or email at fflur@fflur.co.uk
