Liria Pristine

Remember that piece I did on PristineSmut, the duo who create fabulous pieces from knitwear? Well, Liria Pristine has gone solo with her first collection (also knitwear) titled Adapted, Deliverance. Check it out…

Liria Pristine at Emerging Fervour

‘Adapted Deliverance’ is inspired by Liria’s recent stay in Sao Paulo. Not one to let us down, the designs are still as eye-catching as you’d expect from Pristine.

Accessorise with these delights from Urban Knitfits

Noir and pastels braided rope wool necklace $38 USD

Multi-colour braided wool necklace $38 USD

Red and Heather Blue rope braided wool necklace $32 USD

These scarves are made from a combination of wools, alpaca, hand spun glittery wools, eco wools, and many more. The wicked combination of colours adds an extra edge to your outfit. You can wrap them around as many times as you like…the more the warmer! The first is my personal favourite…definitely making an order on that one sharpish!!

Ski cap from eco-wool and other wool blends unisex and fits most $40.00 USD

The hats are made from eco wool – making them oh so soft and very natural to the touch. The little skier is made from wool and wool blends – ADORE THESE! Another for my list.

Urban Knitfits have only been around for a few months; set up by a group of knitting misfits from the salty shores of Portland Maine. We love this find and I’m so glad it’s winter already so I can wear it NOW! I also came across Abigail’s blog, who is one of the Knitfits co-founders – check her out!

PristineSmut

Picture 25Picture 29

When I first set eyes on the creations of PristineSmut I was in awe of the whole concept. This new label is the creation of two Central Saint Martins’ graduates Liria Pristine and Rosie Kent, based in London/Sao Paulo. These two have taken knitwear and jewellery to create some amazing pieces…

The duo mention that they “draw from the 1920s; an age of jazz, intolerance, and of wonderful nonsense to bring your their debut collection ‘Il m’a vu nue’. As the chivalry of that time diminishes, and vulgarity becomes easily accessible, even nakedness in all its glory is not enough to excite. PristineSmut introduces modern pleasures in an elegant, modest light.”

If you’re as excited about this new label as much as we are then visit PristineSmut and take your pick of amazing pieces. Thank you Central Saint Martins for giving us some of the best designers out there!

Designers we love: Sandra Backlund

R_body_skin_and_hair_pic1_photo_calle_stoltz

When I think of knitwear designers I tend to think of fabulously oversized designs that would look amazing on a super skinny model but drowning on my 5ft4 frame. Sandra Backlund is different, I’m sure you can see why.

She is no doubt one of my favourite designers. The use of different methods add a story to each piece and makes you feel like you’re covered in something really unique. Experiments with different materials and techniques makes her stand out, but it is through Sandra’s heavy wool knitting collage that she expresses hersef the best.

Let’s see if I can get an interview with this amazing designer!

Classic yet kitsch with a bit of Alice in Wonderland…

01

…is what we’d call the cutest cardigans we have come across in a long time.

Jojo & Mac is behind the brain child of Cindy Tsang, who has been dressing the girls of Brighton with her own design tees and sweats for the last two years.

It all started winter 2008, when Cindy customised a vintage cardigan using gingham bows, costume pearls and pineapple shaped buttons. The aim was to mix classic shapes with playful twists.

Having a fascination with contrasting prints, shapes, fabric, and styles it comes as no surprise that her first collection is what she is about; her animal motifs are strong, polka dot and heart prints add some romanticism, whilst gingham ribbons and bow shapes buttons add to the kitsch factor, making them cute as hell and very adorable.

We are so excited to welcome Jojo & Mac into the fashion world and will embrace it as soon as their collection hits the shop.
