Andy Lifschutz
Graduating in 2008, Andy Lifschutz‘s exploration into metalwork started off in Brooklyn with Kristin Hanson. However it was when he studied at the Sterling Quest School of Jewelry Design and Creation (San Miguel De Allende, Mexico) where he really took his exploration into metallurgy to the next level.
Since his graduation in 2008, Andy continues to discover new ways to combine his artisan style with raw elements with materials including reclaimed metals, wood, bone and stone, creating a balance between old and new…

Pete Doherty is now a er, jewellery designer. No really.
Smack-head turned jewellery designer Pete Doherty has teamed up with London jeweller Hannah Martin to create a new jewellery label Albion Trinketry borne from a longing to re-introduce the days when every man had a piece of jewellery to wear with his Sunday best. Reading this, you would assume Pete knows what ‘Sunday best’ is.
To be fair though, the collection is pretty nice…
Rose Gold Cuff Links £2100
Bone Cross Necklace, Mammoth tusk and black diamonds in White gold £2650
Silver Pendant £565
Gold ring with mammoth tusk and black diamonds £8725
In an interview, when asked if he wore any pieces from Albion Trinketry he said ‘No, I’m not allowed to’. Why? We will never know.
F**K SAKE PETE! It’s ALBION TRINKETRY… TRINK – ET – RY
Oh and here’s a video of Pete talking (I think?!) about the collection…I can just about make out something about putting ideas into motion (I think?!) and then the rest is a mystery to me… gold star to anyone who can send us the translation.
Mandy Wu
A picture says a thousand words…so here is Mandy Wu from Singapore…loving these pieces.

Natalie Brown
London College of Fashion MA graduate Natalie Brown is somewhat of an eccentric accessories designer – who gets her inspiration from the fascination with nature’s ability to replicate. The unfurling of buds, garlands and ferns inspired a collection of three dimensional accessories.
Even the boys are wearing them!
C’est Jol!
The C’est Jol! AW collection of necklaces and cuffs, by designer Alison Dawson is absolutely beautiful. Based in Toronto, Canada – Alison explores the sculptural and aesthetic qualities in materials such as cords, piping and tapes, which provide the basis for her concept and design inspiration.
Check out a couple of pieces from her latest collection.
Oooooooh these are so up my street. All pieces come with 18kt gold accents…they are just oozing sumptuousness.

Max Steiner Jewelry design
Ever seen a piece of jewelry and thought you have to have it? Well, that’s how I felt when I saw the origami pieces from jewelry designer Max Steiner. Especially as we have an event going on at ESMOD Beirut on the 15th December where the running theme is ‘Origami’ – if only Max Steiner could be here to help me with my outfit! The background on Steiner is of an architectural modelmaker, sculptor, product designer, 3d modeler, and web developer based in New York. Check out some of my favourite pieces:
The Origami Collection
^ Origami Lily Earrings – Sterling Silver – $130
^ Origami Crane Necklace – 18kt Gold – $680
The Icon Collection
^ Thick Icon Brick Necklace – Sterling Silver – $190.00
New York Subway
^ New York Subway Bracelet – Sterling Silver – $125.00
There are lots more beautiful pieces on Steiner’s site, www.maxsteinerdesign.com.
Grow on you
Yesterday I went to Lara Khoury’s SS11 collection showcase Grow on you and opening of her boutique in Beirut’s Rue Gouraud, Gemmayze (opposite Le Chef restaurant). A beautiful location and with candles and soft lights scattered around the room the mood of the night was just perfect – just as I expected.
Her SS11 collection draws inspiration from French sculptor Arman, the sculptural gesture of accumulation is at the center of the collection. She also showcased some beautiful pieces of jewelry which was a collaboration with Malaika Najem – no shots of these but take my word for it!
Some images from last night, taken by my fellow ESMOD partner in crime – Jad Khalil…

KidViskous
I came across KidViskous a few months ago while looking for a present for a friend. Tiffany Lee is the brain behind KidViskous jewellery label. She is right now into her fourth collection, which is just as quirky as collection 1, 2 and 3. The thing I love most is the Lee designs on a whim and doesn’t conform to any trends, making her pieces timeless.
Check out Collection 4
Something else that’s quite interesting about KV is their support of emerging photographers models, which is exactly what we like hearing at Emerging Fervour! Tiffany also works as a freelance fashion writer, blogger and editor – check out her blog.
Her past and present collection pieces are on sale through the KidViskous website www.kidviskous.com
London Jewellery Week – Starting…TODAY!

Today the London Jewellery Week is starting, celebrating a week long London’s unique position in the world of jewellery design, production and retail.
The cornerstone events form the basis of a week of activities across the city, encouraging visitors to experience and celebrate London’s diverse jewellery scene. These events support new designers, feature established names and give visitors a unique experience of London’s traditional jewellery quarters.
There should be an event for everyone as looking at the list of exhibitors, I’m gutted I’m currently not in London to traipse the streets!!
You can find out where and when the events will be held on their website and you can even sign up for a discount card.

Enjoy!!
