Flik Hall
I recently came across emerging designer, Flik Hall and instantaneously fell in love with her designs. Her SS11 Collection instantly caught my eye, and seeing as we’re almost coming into summer now – take a look at her SS11 collection titled Mannequin Parade.
Brass
Born and bred in Perthshire, Scotland, designer Zoe Watt studied Fashion at the University of Middlesex before embarking upon a Masters degree at Central St. Martins, London.
As with most of our designers that we feature on Emerging Fervour, Zoe Watt is rarely influenced by passing trends, and she combines the simple lines and forms found in geometry with everyday garments. I love how quirky Brass’ fabric choices are – things that you wouldn’t think match go surprisingly well together, which goes to show what a fantastic designer Watt is.
Masha Ma – new kid on the block at London Fashion Week
My favorite new designer at London Fashion week would have to be Masha Ma, a Central Saint Martins graduate. When I knew that she would be showing at London Fashion Week (a first for the emerging designer), I just had to go. Her collection ‘Ice Breaker’ had a palette of strong colours including, white, silver, arctic blue and touches of gold. Light, breezy and flowing, the SS11 collection is getting us all ready for what next summer may bring.

Kirsty Ward Jewellery
UK born Kirsty Ward graduated in 2008 with a distinction from Central St Martins College. After showing her MA final collection on the London Fashion Week catwalk, Kirsty was snapped up by Alberta Ferretti to design for her in Italy, where she worked for a year and a half, before returning to England to work as a freelance womenswear/ jewellery designer for a variety of high end labels.
With not only a natural talent for fashion, Ward’s handmade embroideries have attracted interest and commissions from a variety of fashion’s heavy weights.
For this season, Kirsty teams up with London fashion week debutant David Longshaw (after meeting whilst both designing for Alberta Ferretti) to design jewellery for his A/W catwalk collection titled, ‘Escaping Emily’.
Colour high
Ahhh Bombay is one of those cities that I’d love to visit; I just have these visions of colour EVERYWHERE. From spices to fabrics to personalities, everything is just that little bit more colourful in Bombay.
Tanielle Lobo was born and bred in Bombay where she studied Art and Design. Leaving Bombay to pursue a career in Fashion in the UK, Tanielle began a foundation diploma at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Rochester and after completing her foundation, she was offered a place at Central Saint Martins to take a BA(Hons) degree in Fashion Design and Marketing.
Tanielle Lobo’s design and thoughts reflect a very energetic and ornate style. Growing up in Bombay allowed Tanielle to be exposed to ethnic handicrafts and Indian culture. She’s attended workshops in Zardozi (Indian Gold Embroidery), Rangoli (Decorative floor art) , Warli and Madhubani Art (Indian Tribal Painting) and has successfully completed courses in Pattern cutting and tailoring. Inspired by decorative oppulance , she has a vibrant and soulful spirit and an air of indianesque fantasia.
Katerina Levina
I got an email through from this wonderful emerging designer, Katerina Levina. It’s amazing, there are so many designers out there and every week we stumble across lots of new emerging designers who really leave us wanting more. Here’s a taster of Katerina Levina’s past collections – check out the site for more.

Since recently graduating from Central Saint Martins, Katerina has started her own label, and launched a sleek new site that showcases her work. She’s also produced 3 collections of mens and womenswear garments, footwear and accessories and are being sold through various shops in Russia and UK. Ambition is such a fashion turn on for me (and this doesn’t just apply to fashion
). It’s amazing to see a young emerging designer really going for it and making things happen.
The Katerina Levina online store will be launching soon so make sure you check the website for more details.
We wish Katerina all the best of luck in the future!

About Alexandra Groover
Originally from California, Alexandra moved to London in order to promote her designs to the international fashion market.
Her Black Label collection was created to fulfill her need for expression through sculptural and textural manipulations of fabric. Black label is a collection of luxury garments inspired by the architecture of nature. Made from fabrics such as felted wool and washed silk, these pieces concentrate on the sculptural properties of the felted wool together with the flattering, body skimming properties of bias cut silk, making the visual impact of the pieces both classic and avant-garde.

Joanna Vanderpuije
Joanna, I love you, you’re the one, the one for me. Ok, so these might be the lyrics to Kool and the Gang’s ‘Joanna’ but f*** me I do love Joanna Vanderpuije, and these pieces from this emerging designer are DEFINITELY for me.
