How to wear white – the ultimate summer trend

When I think of wearing white, my mind goes back to the late 90′s, early 2000 – an unfortunately unfashionable time in my life. I had many fashion phases during that time, from shell suits, to platforms from skater girl to tarty (lycra was my fabric of choice) – I’ve been through it all and where white was included spelt disaster. Not the smallest of girls, a white lycra mini skirt coupled with a white halter top isn’t a proud fashion moment for me, and I swore off white FOREVER… But that is all about to change; I’m planning on making a white comeback this summer with a couple of these beauties I found.

Have you got the (W)edge?

Style 3: The Wedge

The good old trusted wedge, it’s come in and out and will never disappear as far as I’m concerned. Some might remember I’ve stocked up in last seasons sale and my lovely Nicole Fahri wedges have already come to good use.

I love wedges, so comfy, stylish yet so easy to walk in, none of this wobbling about on a small heel. Having recently moved to Switzerland where every second street seems cobbled, they will be the choice of heel for me this season. Although careful, as they can be heavy and depending on the strap they could get very uncomfortable as they hang off your ankle. But these little things should not hold you back and if you’ve not got already one in your collection, make sure you get one!!

Here are some of my favourites under £150 (it was so hard again as Miu Miu, Christian Dior and all the great designers have created some master pieces):

What’s in your wardrobe: Claire Heggadon & Baby Sylvie

HOT MAMA!!! Claire used to work over at Pod1 with Nat, Tracey and I and we had to have her and her gorgeous little girl Sylvie on our wardrobe feature. How Claire manages to look so polished with a baby in tow is a mystery to us (we reckon it’s just bloody good genes) but this gives me some hope that one day I might be able to pull off looking this hot with a gorgeous snotty baby on my arm too…well, here’s hoping hey?!

JACKET

Claire: This dress I got for a fiver from Ebay, the label is in Japanese so I have no idea of the make, but I love it because its like a proper Japanese schoolgirl dress, very naughty, and a bit too short! The jacket is real fur, apparently its made of muscat – I have no idea what that is but they make very warm snuggly coats! I get why people don’t approve of fur, but personally I don’t see the difference between that and eating meat, neither are essential and its up to the individual.
