How to wear white – the ultimate summer trend
When I think of wearing white, my mind goes back to the late 90′s, early 2000 – an unfortunately unfashionable time in my life. I had many fashion phases during that time, from shell suits, to platforms from skater girl to tarty (lycra was my fabric of choice) – I’ve been through it all and where white was included spelt disaster. Not the smallest of girls, a white lycra mini skirt coupled with a white halter top isn’t a proud fashion moment for me, and I swore off white FOREVER… But that is all about to change; I’m planning on making a white comeback this summer with a couple of these beauties I found.
ASOS Aqua Contrast Trim Cut Out Dress £110
Preen Asymmetric White Dress £778 @ Matches Fashion
Karen Millen Modern Jewel Strapless Dress £199
American Apparel Piqué Dolman Sleeve Dress £34
ASOS Exaggerated Peplum Bandeau Dress £38
Vogue.com have given us the following information on the white wash trend:
White is a perennial favourite but this season’s fun is to be had with shape, form and fabric.
“More than a blank canvas, white focuses the eye on form and line, and now runs the gamut from pure innocence to power dressing” – Emily Zak, acting executive fashion editor.
The white blazer returns triumphant courtesy of Calvin Klein and Michael Kors.
At the very least, a white shirt should be top of your shopping list.
