What was there to see at the Kinder Aggugini AW 10 show?

The anticipation for this catwalk really heightened when I experienced the full force of the LFW pecking order but when I managed to get in along with the rest of “the hopefuls” I was SO glad I swallowed all pride and waited in the naughty corner.

Have a look at some pictures from the Kinder Aggugini AW 10 show I saw on Saturday 20th. Check out our Flickr for lots more images of the show.

Here’s what the press release told us:
AW 2010 (for Kinder Aggugini) is inspired by Juliette Recamier, a woman who stood up to Napolean I, then the most powerful man in Europe. Beautiful, accomplished and with a real love for literature, Juliette is most famous for her Salon in Paris, which was one of the chief resorts of literary and political society. For this she was eventually exiled from Paris by the orders of Napoleon himself. I imagined if she were alive today she would be displaying all the characteristics of a muse both in style and intellect. I conceived a collection based on the kind of beautiful, feisty woman who lives like a true rockstar whilst turning heads both for her look and her intellect. What interested me most was how politics and literature mixed with beauty, posed a defiance to an empire and how such a spirit might be translated into a modern look. I mixed Napoleonic references with sensual dresses and early rockers style. Structuring the tailoring out of rigid cashmeres, converting 19th century war uniforms in super-soft tweeds and then underpinning the looks with soft dresses in enzyme washed silks both printed and cashmere/cotton muslin shirts or double milano jersey dresses. The result is an easy glamour of rigid structures opposed by soft dresses – an unconventional balance between constraining power and freeing intellect.

Well, we were so excited to see this fabulous designer. Very glamorous and rock-chic with a bit of mystery thrown in.

We know we have some pretty cool shots and we’re always happy to share, but please contact us before and name Emerging Fervour as your source, and Mindy Coe as the photographer.

Love this 12
