‘Me’ is treating us to a new shop, new brand and 20% Off
‘Me’ has certainly been busy over the last few month. We’ve met Amma who is behind ‘Me’ at the ‘Room 202‘ event, which she organised and where we saw, touched and fell in love with her leather accessories.
Although you are able to buy from the current site (www.wear-me.co.uk) we’re so excited to see the new shop which is easy to use and compliments the products like a an online shop should. And what is next? There is a blog on its way, we can’t wait to see what goodies ‘Me’ will share with us. And on top of that new events are being lined up such as ‘teach Me’, a beginners bag making workshops or ‘hang with Me’ where you have the opportunity to be creative over a glass of wine. Of course we’ll let you know when this is all happening.
And as an introductory offer there 20% off until the 1st February for everyone that signs up to the e-news letter.

Happy Birthday Beautiful Soul
Has it really been a whole year? Oh how time is flying by when you are having fun! And although we know there has been a lot of hard work for Beautiful Soul in the last year we’re delighted to sing Happy Birthday!! Well done on an amazing year and we’re chuffed to have been part of it.
We’ve been following Beautiful Soul since the London Fashion Week and as the doors open again this February, Beautiful Soul will be celebrating its first year of exponential growth.
Ethics and luxury have never seemed to walk side by side, but the arrival of Beautiful Soul last year has shaken up the fashion industry and proven that aspirational high end fashion can have it’s roots in ethical design and manufacturing principles.
One year on, lets take a look at the success of Beautiful Soul

Beautiful Soul launches its website and online boutique (www.beautiful-soul.co.uk) in order to retail its debut collection ‘smallprint’.
adidas vs. Puma
The feud between adidas and Puma is one of the great urban myths of economy. Whether it’s a real story or just a real good marketing trick, it worked out well for both companies. The story of two brothers who founded the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory, split up in 1948 and founded adidas and Ruda, later named Puma. They built two factories in the same little Bavarian town on different sides of the river and never spoke to each other again.
Although the feud officially ended in 2009 it’s quite funny, that both companies start the new year with special collections that are as different as day and night. I won’t decide which one works better, but in my opinion the Puma collection is much more authentic.
Last week, adidas launched its limited star wars collection in stores. Every piece is inspired by star wars characters and crafts, like the Millenium Falcon Stan Smith or the Yoda ZX 700 Boat. I’d say the Darth Vader Superstar Tracktop and the Famous Scenes Micropacer are a bit overdone, but you may love it, if you’re a hardcore Star Wars Fan.
Fashion trends from 2000 to 2009 – NY Magazine
With 2010 fast approaching, I was intrigued to know how our trends have developed over these past 9 years so after taking a look at New York Magazine’s trends of the 00’s I thought it would be great to include it in the run up to 2010.
Take a look at the years piece by piece including Uggs 03-06, skinny jeans 07-present, the rise of Louboutin 04-present, size zero 07-present and many more!
Thank you Isabella Oliver – the perfect winter coat
Christmas came early in my chilly little flat when the lovely team at Isabella Oliver heard my cry for winter coat.
Having decided that this winter I was actually going to find a real coat rather than my usual jacket nonsense, I scoured about a billion different sites for a coat that would fit my wish list:
- fit over my enormous knits without causing that fabric bunching that makes me so stroppy
- reach my knees to keep my bum warm
- pockets (real ones that work)
- work day to night
This beautiful parcel turned up at my door the day the snow flurries started and I fell in love instantly.
Isabella Oliver has the answer I was looking for: a reversible coat with optional belt – AMAZING!!
Emerging Fervour experiences Amanda Wakeley

I have been intrigued about Amanda Wakeley ever since London Fashion Week, and after I learnt about her incredible history. In 1998, after having traded for a decade, Amanda saw her business sold on after her divorce, then being passed from owner to owner and finally sold behind her back to a restructuring manager. It was after this that Amanda Wakeley was told that her services were no longer required for the Amanda Wakeley. This is an unbelievable story, luckily it gets better.
Amanda didn’t stop fighting and in March she and her new partner, Hugh Morrison, made an offer on her old label and bought it back. And within the space of a few months she is back with full force having opened various stores, including a shop in Bicester Village and of course their new Fulham Road store.
So when Emerging Fervour was asked to test out the ‘Amanda Wakeley Experience’, in their brand new Private Client Room and be styled in this seasons Autumn/Winter collection and some pieces from Summer 2010 collection, I didn’t have to be asked twice!
Good golly, it’s the British Fashion Awards!

The best of the British and international fashion industries including Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova, Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Dame Vivienne Westwood gathered last night at the Royal Courts of Justice for the British Fashion Awards, hosted by Lauren Laverne.
Accessories designer Holly Fulton walked away from the night with a Swarovski Emerging Talent Award for Accessories and emerging ready-to-wear fashion designer Peter Pilotto took the Swarovski Emerging Talent Award for Ready-to-Wear – check out the full list of winners here

Brand Alley Flash Walks at Oxford Circus and Emerging Fervour was there!
What a beautiful sight, walking over Oxford Circus at 9 in the morning and being greeted by fabulous looking models!!
Brand Alley’s new advertising campaign, which consisted of six body-painted models strutting down the the X crossing to promote their business model, which is flash sales. The perfect catwalk.
Excuse the grainy pictures though as for that one day I’ve forgotten the camera at home .

Vice collaborates with Henry Holland
When Vice approached us with a chance to show a video of their collaborative work with Henry Holland, we couldn’t resist. Henry works just round the corner from Vice and somehow both had an idea to build a miniature House of Holland fashion cottage. Sounds a bit crazy and pretty damn cool, which is exactly what I’d expect from the people at Vice…and of course Henry Holland.
Check out the video of this little collaboration…
Henry also designed a load of exclusive work to sell from this little house. Ahhh how we wish we were there but we’re making Vice promise us that if anything like this comes up again then we must, MUST be there!
We also have a few pictures from the night…

Today’s lesson: credibility
Let’s start with a fact, nobody would deny; music creates fashion. Whether the way Johnny Rotten cut his shirt, David Bowie celebrated his androgyny or Brian Ferry emphasized his dandyism, they created styles.
Times have changed, and so has the synergy of music and fashion.
The good news is, there are artists like Ebony Bones!.
The bad news is, there are people like Liam Gallagher.

Ebony Bones! obviously expresses herself and her music through her style. And just like her sound, this style hits you with a hammer. It’s loud, motley, it’s wicked! She wears woollen bracelets and necklaces combined with Josephine Baker memorial banana skirts. Her outfits are like a declaration of war on all suicidal-skinny-jeans-wearing indie rockbands. Let’s come to the point: this is what punk used be. DIY with no rules.
