Craft Central wants Londoners to discover the relevance of craft and design to their city. And what better way than organising this event? The Exhibition of Emerging New Talent is a group showcase of new work by London-based ‘design stars of the future’ – a public chance to experience the freshest craft and design talent at Craft Central’s London gallery. The multi-disciplinary show is a celebration of ‘home grown’ talent and reflects the creative excellence of London’s emerging designer makers.

Fashion Fushion is opening its doors next week to showcase a mix of current collections, samples and past seasons’ stock. Miss Kiki Salon couldn’t be more aligned to Emerging Fervour if it tried! It’s a collaborative concept designed to celebrate and promote the work of emerging artists, photographers, illustrators, poets, musicians, writers and philosophers in new and compelling ways. We love it!!

There was such amazing energy at the opening party – from the DJs, amazing company, the creativity surrounding us all and the gins! We didn’t take as many pictures as anticipated as was too busy enjoying the party! Must remember not to get so distracted next time

After wondering around the hundreds of stands (we have some amazing designers to share with you by the way but for later.. too much to tell you first!!).

We watched the fantastic catwalks shows yesterday and some top tips from the show in terms of what to look out for in AW10. The key message coming through was that trends are evolving from the season before as opposed to big shifts. We are not ready to give up what we love from SS10 but what we are seeing is a tougher more masculine edge to the clothes.

Firstly it’s all about fashion being USEFUL… sounds like a sensible word  but its all to do with simplicity and practicality but expertly designed clothes. We are wanting wearable garments that fit our life. So how does this translate into our lifestyle?

For work its all about soft tailoring, bold and strong grounded colours but bought to life with almonds and mints. Jackets are all about pleating and wadding and watch out for the colour linings! The must haves for AW10 are tuxedos with and pencil skirts.

The moment the London Fashion Week closes its doors, another one opens and it does so for all of us! We went to check out Margin London on Valentines day (no sadly we didn’t get swept of our feet by our Valentine hunks…) to see for ourselves what street wear has in store for us. Well, for one, there were a lot of t-shirts with great prints but that’s not all of course, we met some exciting designers and cannot wait to get to know them better but here are our highlights:

Jojo & Mac ∨

An old favourite as I’ve been eyeing up her cardigans for a while!! There is an exciting new range on top of the lovely cardigans but all will be revealed another time. (www.jojoandmac.info)

Uncommonly Beautiful ∨

If it’s good for the environment, it’s good for us, actually it’s more than good!! We love to see designers being inventive with material and Uncommonly Beautiful does just that. All their jewellery comes from recycled material but again… more to come! (www.uncommonlybeautiful.com)

What is Swishing I hear you thinking and I was exactly the same. The Art of Swishing involves getting your friends together to swap gorgeous clothes and party at the same time. A fabulous way to recycle your clothes and have a catch up at the same time, genius!

We all bring nice, clean, presentable clothes that are lurking unloved in our wardrobe, and other girls fall in love with them and give them a good home. You might bring one sweater and take two pairs of shoes, or hang a party frock on the ‘Swishing Rail’ and take a pair of skinny jeans and feather boa.
